I just wanted to send you a quick email to thank you and your staff for yet another enjoyable and professional course last week.
After successfully completing my D1 PCV in December, I knew I had to come back and complete my D1+E with such a professional company.
My Instructor, Greg, was extremely professional and I believe I am a better driver not only within the Mini Bus, but also my personal car. Thank you for allowing me to have Greg for both driving tests - my confidence increased as soon as I heard he was my Instructor again for the second time!
Please pass on my thanks onto your Instructors, and most importantly, Greg Fox - an Instructor your company should be extremely proud of!

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed my 2 day 'drawbar to artic conversion' with Rob earlier this month. His patience, expertise and sense of humour were very much appreciated. I thoughly enjoyed the driving, although what the inhabitants of Wetherby made of my frequent forays through their beautiful town I am not sure.

Good morning Laurie,
Just a line to thank Tockwith with an all together smooth process with my C+E course. This has been an ambition of mine for some time to achieve this and your company has without doubt helped me get there.
The biggest praise has to be for ROB, he is a true asset to your company. His style of training is clear, informative, practical and most of all adaptable. Please pass on my thanks from the bottom of my heart to him.
There are many training companies out there who are happy to take your money, supply inexperienced Instructors and mediocre equipment, Tockwith are in a league of their own, and long may it stay that way.
All the best,
Andy Johnson (Who has an interview Tuesday with Stobart already)

Just wanted to thank everyone for all your help and support on passing my module 4 and driving test, I found the experience very enjoyable due to the light hearted banter between myself and Ian, who put me at ease from the start, thank you to all.

Hi Laurie, Just wanted to drop you an email to say thank you for the last couple of days which has now gain me my class 1 license. I really appreciated the instruction which I had from you and Rob and have no criticisms what so ever.
Please also pass on my thanks to your dad for being able to source a rear light cover, which allowed me to continue on test. I know that this was just down to bad look loosing this at some stage during the day. (someone must have nicked it off our brand new trailer!)
Due to now taking a job in the midlands I won't be coming back to complete HIAB training just yet. If my situation changes please be assured I will return to your company for any future training.
It's been a pleasure and I wish you and your team the very best.

I would just like to pass on my thanks to your company and most importantly Bill, for the last few days of driver training which gained me a pass on my Cat C test today.
Bill showed a high level of professionalism and his experience and instruction was second to none. He was able to carry on with solid and clear instruction even when my stress levels were high.
The results of the test has given me the confidence in your company and my ability to come back in September to complete Cat C+E and possibly HIAB training.
I will be I touch by the end of week to book my C+E for September. (I will be requesting Bill if possible)
Once again thank you all for making my pass possible.

I would just like to say a big thank you for helping me achieve my C1 license to be able to train as a paramedic! All the staff were fantastic and very approachable, making me feel very welcome during my training sessions. I gained so much confidence in my driving ability. I would definately recommend Tockwith 100% for anyone who is looking into advance driving.
Thanks again! Ruth

WOW! Greatly impressed with the friendly and competent approach from Tockwith Training. I gained my RTITB Counterbalance refresher course in less than 5 hours. Steve Telford was very professional and made me feel at ease within minutes of starting the course. I will be back to get my Reach Conversion very soon.
Thanks again. Dave D Slee

Hi. I would just like to say thank you for all your help in helping me gain my Category C License.
I have found the service you provided to be top quality and helpful from the first contact right up to me walking out of the door with my pass certificate on Wednesday.
All the staff were very professional and polite but at the same time very friendly and approachable, their knowledge of the industry and training really stood out.
It was also great to do the training in modern quality trucks that you are likely to encounter in the workplace instead of trucks that are dated and not in the best of conditions.
I would have no issues in recommending Tockwith Training to anyone, I will also be back soon hopefully to undertake my Module 4 CPC Training with you.
Once again thank You for all your hard work.
11th February 2014
Just wanted to say a big thank- you to Tockwith training. Stuart was brilliant and very patient.
My days training has given me so much confidence and I now feel much more prepared to get out there with my horse wagon. I would definitely advise anybody who is starting to drive a wagon to get some training and advice, even if like myself it isn't necessary by law.
17th January 2014
Hi, I just wanted to say a quick thanks, I took a 1/2 day training with you
(Laurie) in October, prior to my training course to become an LGV driving examiner with DVSA ( I was already a car examiner) I'm delighted to say I passed the course just before Christmas and am now testing on Cat C CE D and BE.
So thanks once again the training was excellent!
26th April 2013
I would like to say a big thank you to Tockwith Training especially Jacqui Hogg and Edward Bennett.
Firstly I would like to say thank you to Jacqui for quickly booking me in for my medical when I first emailed Tockwith Training and for been very helpful from the start. Also for booking my training and test in the week's holiday as requested.
Secondly to Eddie, For getting me threw my Practical PCV D test and my CPC Module 4. His way of teaching got into my head and although on my weeks training I never seemed to be 100% responding to what he was saying, on my hours drive all I could hear in my head was his voice and the things he'd say such as Get to the white line otherwise you wont go round Back off!!! two fast, If you cant get a doors length in go dead slow. Or Slow down!! Why you rushing?
All of this thanks to Eddie got my 95% on my CPC. Missed one fact out on one of my questions. And a pass on my Practical. Three minors, One for getting a question wrong, Another one for signaling to early and the last one for not watching a woman messing about with a car in a driveway.
Thank you so much!!
8th September 2012
To Laurie and Eddie,
A really big thankyou for getting me through my Category C, my CPC and my C+E. With your professional knowledge and expertise, I managed to pass all three tests on the first attempt.
This is an excellent company and I will be definitely be recommending the firm to friends and family who are thinking of doing their HGV, Bus licenses or even their CPC.
Once again a really big thank you and all the best

To Mike, Laurie and all the rest of team Tockwith! Cannot be more grateful for your help in helping me pass my C1! Your strict and meticulous style of teaching is just what I needed to kick my previous bad driving habits in such a short time. The test vehicle used for the training was perfect for when I need to drive ambulances as it wasn't too big and easy to drive.
All the best! James

To all at Tockwith Training and my instructor Mike. I just wanted to email to give a huge thankyou for getting me through my C1 training - I had booked a two day course and passed first time!
Mike's patience and attention to detail whilst teaching me was fantastic and I really enjoyed the whole experience right from my intial assessment lesson to receiving my pass certificate at the end.
Its great to have the independence to drive my horsebox about, I am looking forward to a great fun filled summer with it and for that I am very grateful!
I have already recommended you to other people I know wanting to do the test so hopefully you may see them in the future.
Thankyou once again and all the best for the future.

To all at Tockwith Training Services, a very big thank you for getting me through my C1+E (7.5ton trailer test) the first time. Thanks Laurie for the two days training and a huge thank you to Eddie for my days training and test day.

Thanks ever so much for getting me through my 'C' test, guaranteed pass with you. Hope to see you for my 'C+E'. Tockwith Training are awesome. Two generations of my family have passed with you now, highly recommended. Thanks to all.

I'd like to thank you for your great service in helping me pass my C1 in just 3 days! Thanks to you I am now one step closer to getting into the ambulance service!
Having previously used another company (and failed) I was willing to travel from Durham after hearing nothing but praise about your company. I can say your services are obviously of a very high calibre. I was impressed with your well maintained modern vehicles, and coupled with your quality tuition it was bound to be a recipe for success! Your training style really suited me and I felt at ease throughout the training and on my test. I will happily recommend you to anyone seeking LGV training!
All the best for the future, and thanks again!
10th July 2010
Unfortunately, I did not manage to see you last Thursday to thank you personally for your help in getting me through my test. (I believe you were busy with the alarm man), but all your encouraging words and advice were much appreciated in helping me to succeed and pass my C+E test first time.
The reversing exercise wasn't exactly carried out to a textbook standard and I did have to use your 'recovery' techniques. Careful planning and some minor corrections (based on your philosophy of looking at everything as a problem to solve), focussed me on the task of slotting that trailer into the bay - even if I did have to use a couple of forward moves just to be sure. The positioning of the rear of the trailer in the yellow box was dead central which I was pleased about! Two other minor mistakes that I made were my own silly fault - forgetting to move the low range lever down when doing my first hill start, and then approaching a roundabout a bit too quickly in the early stages of the test. I did however, remember to check that left mirror before turning!
The training given from yourself and your staff was excellent. Using a good clean easy to drive vehicle made the job that much easier. I especially appreciated all the extra advice, tips, and information that were given to help me to progress after my test. I am sure this will be extremely beneficial when I work for an employer driving artics. The administration side of the training was also first class. My e-mails and enquiries were dealt with straight away.
Your calm friendly manner, vast knowledge, and interesting conversation, made my training extremely enjoyable. I certainly had excellent value for money. I have no hesitation in recommending Tockwith Training to anyone wishing to undergo any form of driver training.

Dear all at Tockwith Training
I would like to say a big thankyou to everyone at Tockwith Training for your support during my time spent with you training for my PCV and Driver CPC.
The fact that I passed first time was a credit to Paul my instructor who throughout my training worked very hard to sort out my driving and get me ready for the tests, at times I fell asleep at night thinking about roundabouts and bus stops and when I got up the next day they were still there in my mind.
When I had passed my PCV test and Driver CPC it was a fantastic feeling and I felt that I was a better driver after spending time with Paul. As an Instructor I felt he had given me 100% and more and he has given me a better understanding in driving standards not just for the test but for the years to come, for that I thank him very much.
Paul was outstanding and after meeting some of the other instructors it is clear that the tutorial level at Tockwith Training is of a very high standard. I would have no hesitation in recommending Tockwith Training to anyone as the facilities and staff are first class, should Paul or any of the instructors wish to visit our workplace you are more than welcome as your training is playing a part in our business.

Just a quick note to say thank you for last saturdays Driver CPC course, it was very informative and interesting. Laurie did a good job of keeping us all under control. Could you please let me know future dates of further courses you may be offering.
5th August 2009
To all at Tockwith Training,
Hi guys, just wanted to send a message to say a massive thanks for the fantastic training I received from you for the Class C HGV licence.
The results say it all - from coming in as a fairly average car-driver having never driven anything larger than a 3.5T van, I passed the Class C test the other day with only 1 minor fault (picked up due to early nerves while still inside the test centre!).
The biggest thanks go to Stuart, who took me out for the week - I couldn't have wished for a better instructor. He knew exactly how to iron out all my problems and bad habits, ease me into driving the large vehicle, and build my driving to a much higher standard. He didn't just train me to pass the test, but went beyond that to help me to start thinking much more about the road and to become a better driver overall. He is very professional and a gifted teacher, very knowledgeable, really got the best out of me, and is a very friendly and likeable guy which enabled me to really enjoy the training as well. The encouragement and banter given by everyone was also spot on in getting me to learn fast and feel at ease.
I cannot fault the training given by Tockwith and, as said, the results speak for themselves. I definitely chose the right place to get my class C licence and would recommend you to anyone in the area. The fantastic training means a lot to me, as now I can confidently start my dream-job as an overland expeditions driver/leader knowing I've had the best preperation. I'll definitely send you some postcards from Africa!
All the best, thanks again.

To Stuart, Mike and all at the Tockwith Training Centre, Thankyou so much for all your help in getting me through my C1 test. A pass first time!!

Hi to all at Tockwith,
Just like to say a big thankyou for getting me through my PCV test first time on 26/1/2009, especially to Lorraine for sorting out all the various test bookings, and the person who got me through with great perseverance Eddie. A very professional training programme very impressed with Eddie's knowledge and the way he enjoyed passing on this knowledge to myself to help me on my way to becoming a professional driver.
Once again thanks and keep up the good work.

I would like to say a big thank you to Ian and Paul for helping me pass my Cat C test last year and to Stuart for getting me through my C+E yestherday at the first attempt.
It was an absolute pleasure to be trained by your instructors as they made me feel like a friend and not just another student.
All your instructors are a shining example to Tockwith Training as any one of them would give you help and support if asked.
I would not hesitate in recommending your training services to anyone.
Again Thank You

I am just writing to say a huge thank you for helping me pass my PCV test last week - thereby to achieve a lifetime ambition! It was a most amazing week. I do not think I have ever experienced such a steep learning curve in my life, not when learning to drive a car nor even when learning to drive steam locomotives on the Ffestiniog Railway, and it is all credit to you that I was able to pass the test after just five days of tuition.
Andy was an absolutely excellent instructor. I cannot fault the way in which he built on my progress as the days went by, and he seemed to have planned it so that I peaked at just the right time. In fact, disappointed as I would have been not to have passed, I was almost more concerned at letting Andy down!
In retrospect I really enjoyed the week. Apart from being such a good instructor, Andy was also great company - and I look forward to being able to give him a footplate ride on one of steam locos when he and his family come to North Wales, hopefully next year.
30th June 2008
Following my C1 driving course with you last week and the successful first time pass, I just wanted to write to you to pass on my sincere thanks.
My experience of your company has been nothing but first class from start to finish - from the initial advice and booking assistance given by Lorraine, to the assessment drive with Mike and then the actual course and tuition from Mike, Alan and Paul.
The information provided to me was excellent, your facilities and vehicles are second to none as are your training methods. The whole company is so professional, but very friendly with it - something you don't often find.
I would like to say special thanks to Mike for all his patience, advice and expert tutition, which improved my driving no end from day one to test day. Thanks to Alan and Paul for drumming into me not to forget the left mirror and to Alan for his help with my reversing and his confidence in me - he helped me believe that I was good enough to pass, even though I had doubts! I hope Alan's career develops as he wishes. Thanks also to Eddie for his lunchtime humour!
Passing my C1 quickly has opened up many opportunities for me and will hopefully allow me to pursue a career in the Ambulance Service over the coming months.
You have a great company and a fantastic team at Tockwith Training and I will recommend you at any opportunity that I have.
8th July 2008
Just a quick note to say thank you for helping me pass my C class driving test last friday. I would normally invite all concerned for a slap up fish and chip supper at my shop but the sale went through yesterday!! Hurray!!
Thanks to Laurie in particular and please don't forget the 30th of August!! Yes . . This year!!
Thanks to Ian and I hope he didn't get too wet at Silverstone!! Tee Hee!! Doe. A deer, female deer (he'll understand!)
Thanks again and I will hopefully be in contact soon to do the artic.
21st July 2008
I would like to say a big thank you to stuart and colleagues for the high quality of training I received that got me through my class 2 test 1st time. I will definitely be returning to tockwith training for my class 1 training and will request training from Stuart again if possible.

A note to thank you and your staff for the excellent training course you gave me last week that enabled me to pass my driving test.
Please pass on my especial thanks to my instructor, Andy Parker, who did an excellent job taking me from complete novice to skill level to satisfy my examiner.
It has been a real pleasure to spend a week in the company of the members of your organisation.

I passed my test on the 9th of April with 5 minors. Thank you for all your help Eddie.

A seriously big thank you to all at Tockwith Training for their perseverance, encouragement and faith in my driving skills to pass the LGV class C+E test.
Please pass on my sincere thanks to your team of professional and Eddie for his dogged determination on the reversing area in the hail and snow.
All the team made me welcome from day 1 and has continued throughout my training time, a relaxed and positive approach to all aspects of LGV driving was much appreciated.
A company of rare professional instructors, a company to be rightly very proud of.
3rd April 2008
I returned home Thursday last week a happy man after passing my C+E test at the first attempt. I would like to offer a big thankyou to Stuart for his excellent training techiques and patience. It is very helpful when your instructor has confidence in you. I doubted my own ability to pass first time. Until now I have never passed a driving test at the 1st attempt.
A big thank you to Stuart and congrats to all at Tockwith for your professionalism.
12 September 2007
Just like to say many thanks to the way my training was conducted and for the last three days, just passed my coach test 1st time on 11 of September 2007. Andy whom I did my training with is a credit to you and your company. Brilliant training area as well, to everyone at TTS many thanks regards Paul Treen, Whitby.
30th July 2007
Dear Mike and Lorraine,
I am writing to thank you all at TTS for the great time I had last week training for my PCV D test which resulted in a first time pass on Thursday. Andy was a superb instructor with a keen eye for detail. He was very encouraging and always explained clearly how to deal with particularly difficult or tight junctions which really boosted my confidence in handling the vehicle. The whole team at Tockwith was friendly, with no them and us divide between trainers and trainees. Meeting up for tea and coffee gave time for some light hearted banter, providing a welcome relaxation between the necessarily intensive and focused driving sessions.
You have a company to be proud of and I wish you all well for the future.
I had just one disappointment - having to give you the coach back at the end of the week!!

I'm writing to say a big thankyou to everyone at Tockwith Training. Having recently completed my LGV category C with a first time pass I couldn't be happier. From start to finish everyone at Tockwith has been so helpful, friendly and supportive. I would like to thank all the instructors for making me feel so at ease, I will be eternally grateful for all their advice and support on my test day, when I was feeling a little nervous to say the least!
Special thanks go to Laurie and Andy, my instructors. Both were extremely patient and encouraging throughout the week. Without them I feel sure I would have never passed before the changes in July and the thought of having to adjust to a new vehicle was daunting... Their unwavering belief in my abilities made me so much more positive about taking my test.
I would definitely recommend Tockwith Training to others, and I know many people who like me will need to pass a test to drive horseboxes. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire week, drank lots and lots of tea and met some really nice people! I am looking forward to going out and driving my horses to competitions and perhaps returning one day to do my class 1 artic!!
12th March 2007
I would like to say thank you to your company for the excellent training that I received last week from Ian Shaw for getting me through my test on 9/3/07 and would definitely recommend you to anyone.
26th February 2007
Many thanks for the photo taken after successfully passing my class C test on 23rd February. It was a great feeling to let the Volvo I trained in retire on a high note with a first time pass; it was a fantastic truck to drive.
Everyone at Tockwith went out of their way to help me with my course from my initial assessment up to the training and test, but a very special thanks must go to my instructor Eddie, whose mix of professionalism, humour and unending patience got me through after one week.
I can throughly recommend Tockwith's policy of one-to-one instruction as I would not have passed otherwise. With one instructor concentrating on my driving for a whole day I felt I was really making progress, and this made a huge difference to the speed at which I could develop.
I will definitely recommend Tockwith to anyone asking about LGV Training, and hope to return for class 1 in due course after I've gained some experience in class 2 vehicles - then I can turn the rest of Eddie's hair grey!
All the best!
19th February 2007
I came to Tockwith Training having passed my LGV C test with another provider, attracted by the prospect of doing my C+E training in an artic with a range change gearbox, rather than a rigid and trailer. I felt this would give me a much better start for the trucks I wanted to drive in the future. The training given was 1st class, the training vehicle was excellent and the one-to-one tuition worked very well. I enjoyed every minute of the training and passed my test 1st time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tockwith Training to anyone.
10th February 2006
Just a little note to say thankyou to everyone involved in helping me pass my car and trailer test! All the instructors were fantastic and everyone so friendly and helpful. I enjoyed every minute and met some great people.
i'm looking forward to going on my travels with horse and trailer and will recommend you to whoever I can in the future!
20th February 2006
I am writing to thank you and your staff in assisting me in passing my Class C+E practical test at the first attempt. This was achieved after only 3 days of training.
Special thanks must be given to instructor Andy Parker for his approach to teaching and for the mountain of knowledge he passed on to me so successfully in a short space of time. He is a valuable asset to Tockwith Training Services.
I will not hesitate in recommending your services to other future truckers.
3rd April 2006
Just quick note to say thankyou and all your team for my PCV course last week.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with you all, including some of the 'scary' moments which I won't go into much detail about.
Can you please pass on my good wishes to all of the team but particularly to my individual trainer, Andy for his patience with me and his sheer professionalism. On Monday evening last I reflected that there was no way that I would be ready to take my test on Friday but with Andy's teaching skills and his belief in my abilities I did make the seemingly impossible happen and I came away with my PCV D licence.

I would just like to say how pleased I am at passing first time on my C+E licence, taken on 14th December 2005 with yourselves. I also sat my C licence nearly 3 years ago with yourselves and again passed 1st time. I think that the level of training your company offers is excellent, and I would like to thank Stuart for his first class training techniques!
Once again, thank you! I will recommend your services to anyone I know looking to take their LGV/PCV licence.

Dear Mike and Lorraine
Just like to say a big thankyou to your training services, and your excellent instructors who helped me through my PCV, and I passed 1st time, last week 27th of May. The training was excellent, very thorough, and I will tell people about your training services, who are wanting to do training. It was well worth travelling, it was 100 miles from my home to your yard stayed local at York. It was well worth the distance. Once again thankyou so much.

Could you please pass on my thanks to yourself, Mike and his staff for giving me the tuition which resulted in me getting my Bus Licence. It certainly pays to be taught by the best and I will pass on your services to future clients.

Dear Mike, Lorraine, Colin and Paul,
This is a belated thankyou for your guidance and advice during my PCV course with you back in August. I have now been driving for Ingleby's Coaches for nearly two months (where's that time gone?) and thought I must put pen to paper before Christmas arrives!
I am enjoying the job very much, getting used to the long hours and also to manoeuvring a coach through seemingly impossible situations!
Seriously though, thanks Mike for your practical and professional instruction - I still hear your words in my head when I meet certain situations. Thanks also for your recommendation to Chris Ingleby - he's very particular about his drivers so I count myself fortunate to have got a job with him.
Thanks also to you, Lorraine, for sorting the 'paperwork side', dealing with my ex-employers and booking test times, leaving me more time to concentrate on passing the tests!
Finally, Thanks to Colin and Paul for your instruction and advice in and out of the classroom - always relevant, often humorous and sometimes downright filthy!
Thanks to all, hope to see you around and about, and good luck in the future.

Just a quick note to say thanks to yourself, Colin, Paul and of course Lorraine for your professionalism, patience and psychology!
All best wishes for the future.

Many thanks for the professional tuition I received prior to the taking of my PSV driving test.
Professionalism, is not solely the imparting of technical skills or the standard of training equipment, but I believe, the way they are imparted is vital. My thanks go to yourself, for your patience and understanding throughout the instruction I received over the 20hrs, I spent with Driver Training Services.
I must congratulate you on your recruitment of your able instructors, Mick and Colin.
The responsibility of the bulk of my instruction lay with yourself, However, I must add my thanks to Mick, with whom I spent 4hrs under instruction, both informative and enjoyable. Thank you, Mick. To Colin who on my first morning was terribly handicapped with a cold, and yet he proceeded to give instruction in the classroom with determination and professionalism I associate with yourself and members of your staff.
I have no hesitation in recommending your services, and consider the fees paid, money well invested for the future.

Many thanks for your help and encouragement in passing my HGV 2 in what seemed such a short period.
To all the people who will read this, you are in the most capable hands while you learn. After taking lessons at various training groups I can say with a great deal of experience that the staff at Driver Training Service are the most professional instructors you could ever get. Their attitude and manner towards the pupil are a gift that very few people have.

Dear Michael, John and Tony
Thank you very much for all your efforts and patience during my recent course. Because of all your dedication and thorough professional instruction I was able to pass HGV Class 1 at first attempt. I was not only able to learn about driving but I learnt things about myself which I will never forget. My licence is a passport to a new life and I will always be grateful.
Many thanks Lads

Dear Mike and Tony,
Just a few lines to express my thanks for your expert training which enabled me to pass my HGV Class 1 in only 24 hours training. When I first started I thought it would be an impossible task, but everything just seemed to come together.
I'd especially like to thank Michael, who with his firm and reassuring manner gave me confidence.
I will highly recommend your driving school to everyone I meet.

Many thanks indeed for patience in guiding me through my HGV 1 test which must give encouragement to all who find problems in reversing an articulated outfit.
Please pass on my appreciation to Tony, who will obviously take all credit for my pass as my early instructor and the fact that he took me on the morning of my test, and to Kevin for his friendly encouragement.
The true credit should go to Sally, who introduced a special flavour into the course which produced a satisfactory result - the two ham rolls.
I was impressed with your professional approach and can certainly recommend you as a most competent company.

The standard of instruction was excellent from all the training staff, and my special thanks to Tony for all his help and patience, especially on the manoevring area.
I look forward to seeing you all in the near future, and I shall certainly pass on my recommendation of yourselves to my colleagues and friends.
