What is a C1+E Category Vehicle?
Answer: A lorry or truck that has a gross vehicle weight between 3500kg and 7,500kg with a trailer attached that has gross weight over 750kg. Examples include council road maintenance trucks towing plant trailers, recovery truck towing vehicles with a spec lift and basically small trucks towing trailers.
To be eligible to take this test you must be 18 years old or over, entitled to drive a C1 vehicle (check the reverse of your drivers licence) and take the following steps. If you don’t have C1 on the reverse of your driving licence you need to take your driving test on this vehicle category LGV C1.
Note: Skip steps 1-3 if you have passed the LGV C1 driving test by taking a driving test in a C1 truck/van after 1/1/1997.
