What is the Clamshell attachment?

Answer: Attached to the crane lifting point is metal bucket with a hydraulic operated clamping / closing mechanism that basically holds on to the loose material – normally soil. It is an extremely quick method of collecting waste ground material to clear it from work sites, these cranes are usually operated by utility companies working on underground water/electric/sewerage & roadworks.
